I'm not big into error coins or notes but I'd be thrilled to find a mismatched SN note in circulation, that is at face value. :smile
Just 10 months to go! Canada is switching over to polymer notes next October and that means some denominations of paper money will be gradually replaced reducing the potential of finding anymore errors or collectible notes from the current series.
I'm excited for the prescience of polymer paper money! I wish the US would give it a go, perhaps on a $500 note in limited runs for circulation, though I'd need to save up for one.
Thanks Billy got it Thursday sold it Friday. Huge profit could have shopped it may have got more but I am thrilled with the money I got way more than I expected. Back in the 40's my Grand Pa had a bird dog and was offered $500 for her she was a good one. He loved his dog and bird hunting so he turned it down the next morning he found her dead in her pen, she had hung her collar on something and choked to death. Now I know that I didn't have to worry about that dollar choking to death, but if they figure out next week there are 10,000 of them then I wouldn't have near as much a rarity so I sold my bird dog LOL.
Awesome find! Freshcoastmatt, glad to hear that you did very well on that note of yours and I feel good knowing I was in a general ballpark. I think you may have gotten more out of it if you had time, but hey, it's the holidays and who wouldn't want an extra $1,200? Kent, I think that you can also do well with this note, although maybe not as well as freshcoastmatt did. You note seems to be a little more worn than that note, but i still think you can get a very decent premium on it. Based on the small scan, I would grade the note to be around the VF grade and therefore be worth about $600-$800. One thing is that the more worn they are the lower the premium is though so that may be a high estimate. Either way, great find and congrats!
