Did you know the Royal Australian Mint issued a silver proof set this year (2010) featuring a different vintage WW2 military tank on each of the set's five coins?

    The WW2 tanks featured are

    Britain's A22 Churchill
    United States' M4 Sherman
    Japan's Type 97 Chi-Ha
    Russia's T-34
    Germany's V1 Tiger Tank

Instead of me boring you to indifference, let me will transport you to a website featuring the proof set via Auction. Mind you, I am only including the link to the website so you can see each coin in full size to enjoy the designer/s' artistry and the quality of the coins, not as an endorsement of the company offering the proof set nor am I suggesting a negative opinion of the seller.

The site provides all the statistics about the proof set and thumbnails of each individual coin. Click on thumbnails to see the coins in full size. I am sure you will be as impressed as I am. Here's the link:

Did you enjoy the scenic route?

thats pretty cool. they are half colored? the only sad thing is that we perceive destruction, or tools thereof as cool.

    Hi wazzappening...

What I think is cool about these coins is the artistry presented on such a small metal canvas

Well well well ... I don't collect such coins, partly because of the theme, partly because of the colors. Others may find them attractive of course, but I don't think the Royal Australian Mint made these pieces. According to the link, they were issued by the Perth Mint on behalf of Tuvalu.

Thanks Christian for the "who minted them?" correction...
