Well I finally finished my uncirculated Roosevelt dime set. I know, not that exciting, but it is to me! 20 more for complete BU from 1975 - 2010!

Thank you! It is exciting. I had the complete set, but they were rough. So i sold them and purchased this. It only cost me an additional $30.

So I'm a bit confused. Were the '65-68 SMS also silver?

No they are not. just 1946-1964 and then the silver proofs in the 90's and 2000's.

Now I need all of the Philly proofs from 1950-1954, 56, 57 & 58. I'm trying to sell 26 mint sets to cover that cost!

    Well done.
I've been touting silver Roosies for quite a while.
I completed my set (business strikes and proofs) about two years ago.
The set has been ignored for so long.
I hope I'm still around when they catch fire.
Probably will take a design change to get them going.

I secretly have a soft spot for rosies...but I sell tons of them in bags as junk silver :( I can't keep them around very long.

Yep! i have the entire album till 2010 in BU minus 20! I broke up every mint set ;)
I didn't want to bore anyone with the clad and modern silvers.

Even though I'm an amateur collector, I dream of collecting a whole set of business strike, OBW, BU, rolls of silver rosies. That will take quite a lot of money!

    Hey gbroke,

    First, congrats! Nice set. :)

Second...I'll be acquiring some 90's silver proof rosies soon which I'll find myself having absolutely NOTHING to do with. Drop me a PM if you wish to talk. :)

I think you would be surprise how small is the cost to complete the rosies series compare to other series.

    gbloke: nice set!

They sure do look pretty. I am going the cherry picker route and searching boxes to put mine together.

What do you guys think about buying an already completed set versus purchasing the coins individually? What would be the considerations in deciding which method to pursue?

You will get a much better deal if you buy the complete set. I had the complete set in circulated condition. I sold it and was able to buy the BU set with a little more additional cash. Back to the point, buying individually will cost quite a bit more.
