Hi everyone, I just inherited alot of old coins from my grandfather. They are mostly from 1906 up to 1964. Walking liberties, Standing liberties, Washington quarters, Roosevelt and Mercury Dimes. And some Kenndy's.

I was going through them yesterday and found a 1916 D Mercury Dime, which I've come to learn can be worth a decent amount. Just wondering what all of you thought it might be worth, and if you think it will continue to gain value in the near future. Thanks, Here's some pictures. Sorry they aren't great, had to use my iphone.

Its the key to the set and one of the great rarites of the 20th century. I would get it certified by a TPG company, this will enhance its value. I think this coin will continue to go up in the future, but right now probably worth around $1000.

The one caveat is that since they have always been worth a lot, there are a large number of fakes of them, even in that grade. This is why a buyer would insist it is certified.

Your coin appears to grade around AG-3. It's one of those coins that you would want to have professionally graded by a top tier tpg (NGC, PCGS). Value wise I would say roughly 500$+ depending on the grade garnered from the tpg.

be careful. This coin is the most counterfeited US coin out there. PERIOD. More counterfeit 1916-Ds exist than real ones do.

Have the coin authenticated. Then certified.
