Nice coins Green. I really like that R.I. So what are those? 65?

Hey Cessna Driver. That RI is a PCGS '65. Dead on you are on that one. The Maryland is a PCGS '64.

Other than possibly strike(I'm not familiar with these) I can't figure out why that Maryland didn't hit 65.

    wow lovely!!

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

Luster (or lack thereof) is my suspicion.

Clearly a clean enough coin to warrant a 65.

When you see a head scratcher, you should ask yourself "what am I missing", because more often than not, there is something you are.

I think it's luster lacking as well. I'll post pics when they arrive. I already got a tracking number from Teletrade. Seems like when I win something on Heritage, it's a week before I get any notice of shipment.

    Very nice. Very nice indeed.

A little gift to yourself this season (sort of at the expense of the Mint ;))...

And nice grades too! Did you pick these up on the Tuesday 'No Reserve' TT auction and get to take advantage of their December 10% discount too?

That I did Chris. No buyers fee and what's more, no tax (unlike Heritage). :)

    Green,
They look like nice pickups (though TT image/scans are awful, sometimes coin turns out nicer than image). I'm curious about your Heritage tax comment -- did they start charging you tax? I haven't bought from Heritage in awhile, but that would be a new and revolting development.

  16. Ken: Just saw this post. Great pick-ups, especially with no buyers fee! Much nicer than 5 ounce ATB bullion. Enjoy, TC

Buyers in some states are required to pay state sales taxes, such as New York in this case. This started in 2009 after Heritage opened their Manhattan auction gallery.

See Heritage's Sales Tax Information page.

Thanks, guys. Makes you wonder: if a consequence of opening a NYC office was all NY State residents having to pay sales tax, will the NYC office end up costing them business?

I'll tell ya, it really effects my bidding with the buyers fee and the tax in mind. Then you've got to add shipping, so with all that considered, I find that I come in low with my bids 'cause I've got to add these three factors to my bottom line. As a consequence, I haven't won much on Heritage lately....:)
