I was packing my house up cause im moving. I happened to find these 2 coins in small cases. One is an Australia 1970 50cent piece with "Capt James Cook R.N. Botany Bay April 1770" on the case. And the other one is an New Zealand One dollar coin with "H.M. The Queen" "H.R.H. The Duke Of Edinburgh" "Royal 1970 Visit" I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about them or if they were worth anything?
Australian 50 cents - BU $3.50, Proof $40 (it doesn't look like proof to me) New Zealand dollar - BU $1, Prooflike $2 Not much value there, but the fact the coins are in cases might make them more valuable for a particular collector.
Australia piece $8 in BU New Zealand piece $1 in BU values per numismaster.com edit: darn, late, sorry.
A lot of the Australian and New Zealand moderns are pretty tough in pristine condition but these two were both heavily saved because they were commems. Catalog value might even be a little high on the aussie piece but is low on the New Zealand coin I believe.
