A pair of 1854 large cent rotated dies

    Came across these pair, one was marked as an error and the other wasn't - had to get both! They appear to be from the same dies. I had to rotate the reverse of the second pic, but it is indeed rotated the same exact degree as the other: they're both rotated somewhere between 80 to 85 degrees.

    Great pic-ups, was looking for some markers and only thing I picked up on was the C in cent. Any other markers that would make you say their from the same dies except for the rotation...

    Nice coins. I remember somewhere someone created a clock using all the different rotation on the 1807 coins.

    Just got The Die Varieties of United States Large Cents 1840-1857 (Grellman) in the mail yesterday: Great book!

    The two cents above are N-27, die state c, which the book specifically lists as rotated 75 to 80 degrees. R3.
