Thanks. I got the 10X glass out to check them out and really couldn't find anything wrong which I was pleasantly surprised. Hope NGC sees them the same way!
No problems with mine either. I ordered well after the release date (Nov 20) and received it today, 13 days later. I have always had good results using the standard mint website and waiting a while to order. It goes right through with no delays.
I ordered some in the early evening of the 19th and they are backordered to the 17th of December. Guess I should have waited a day.....
green18:, Don't try and figure the mint out on that one. They have a way of doing things that always keep you guessing. One thing though, and I haven't seen anyone mention this, they included a survey request about the mints products and packaging. First time they have ever asked me for an opinion. This should be interesting!
I got my first five two were real problem coins . Planed to cancel the next five but they shipped before I could...I got them today so out of 10 ...five are being returned . reasons being marks on lettering ...never before seen so much pieces of clear plastic from the air tights on the coins , and in the air tight..... from crumb size to a sliver about 1/2'' or better in size. I'm glad now I did get the other five so I could pick out 5 good coins to keep. I really don't care for the new frosting on the coins. ...it looks to be fake to me as compared to a UC or Camo coin. just my 2 cents
wow, i guess i just got lucky. i had gotten my 5 subscription ase in last week and they are all flawless. not any of the problems mentioned at all. i would venture to say these should be at least 69's. :thumb: i canceled my other order after seeing all the issues and coins goin back to the mint. poor saps who buy them on ebay are gonna get all the crap out there.
My subscription order of 20 are all beautiful....whew! I see PR70 ASE'S First Strikes on sale now through some web sites. One has PCGS PR70's for $200.00 and PR69 for $90.00. I posted on another thread about how to determine the date(s) of when our specific ASE's we received were minted. What date or dates determines a First Strike. Is it as simple as people like us getting their subscription orders first rather than ordering on the first day of ordering from the Mint via web site or phone. I'm curious about this First Strike determination. Thanks for any information. Sam
If you can get it into their hands within 30 days from it's release date, they will label it as a First Strike. After that, you can still send it in, but it must be in an unopened mint shipping carton. If the mint carton's original shipping date is 30 days or less from the release date, it will still qualify.
Well... I joined in and ordered mine today. It's supposed to ship on Dec 16th and I can't wait for it to get here. This is my first silver coin that I've bought.
order limit removed http://mintnewsblog.blogspot.com/2010/12/ordering-limit-removed-for-proof-silver.html
does anyone know the mintage of the proof ase??? and the expected price climb after mint stops sales..
Nope on the mintage. Probably won't know that final outcome for months. As for a price climb? Yeah, I'm dreamin' too but I don't think that's gonna happen.

I am so fed up with the feds between the mint and the USPS I could cry......................
New here, first post, glad to be here. I've gone through my box of 20 and found 4 that I can spot no flaws with the naked eye. All the others either have some hazing in different areas, scratches on the coin, or outright pit marks on the surface(one looks like it was pulled out with pliers!). I pulled out some samples from '04 & '05 to compare with and the difference is amazing. The surfaces on those look like perfect liquid silver mirrors. These 2010's don't even come close. Do you guys think I'm being too picky here or do you think if I can see a flaw with the naked eye, then send them back? I appreciate the feedback.
Welcome to CT Pennylover! You are NOT being too picky, ESPECIALLY if you can see problems with the naked eye. I think you need to send the Mint a message by sending any problem coins you are not satisfied with back for refund or replacement while you still have the recourse in the Mint's Return Policy (7 days) to do so.
I wasn't planning on getting mine graded, but with all the problem coins out there, I think this will greatly increase the value when I try to sell some. I couldn't find it on their site, so does anyone know if/how you pay return shipping after NGC grades them? It looks like it would cost $80 for 5 coins, plus shipping and insurance each way. Are there any other fees I should know about (I have never submitted coins for grading before)? Do you ship them in OGP, or just put the coins in? Thanks in advance.
