I've been thinking about making a coin for a while. I decided that the most reasonable proscess is Hammering. Aside from the design, planchets etc., how would I make the dies?
Well there's 3 ways to make a die. 1 - you have somebody else do it for you. 2 - you carve it by hand. 3 - you use a combination of carving and punching. But you first have to carve the punches. There is a fourth way I guess. You use an existing coin as a pattern and with that create a hub then press your die blanks into that hub to create the dies.
