December sixth 2010 you heard it here first ! http://mintnewsblog.blogspot.com/2010/12/america-beautiful-silver-bullion-coins.html
I won't likely collect them, but for those who plan on it... it's about time! The only thing I would change is making it a $5 face value or at least having it's silver weight somewhere on it. The legislation for these was a bit off in my opinion.
No Thanks! After the mess with the new 2010 proof ASE's I won't even try to purchase one. What recourse do you have though a 3rd party when you receive the item that is anything but near perfect. I may have a different view had these been a US Mint release where you could return if not satisfied with the coin. With all the mess up's at the US Mint "bogus E Mails" etc....the scraping of the 2009 proof ASE's I think I am done with the mint...sour grapes well maybe ,but everyone should be asking "who's minding the mint"
This is yesterday's news. Check out existing threads in this same forum: http://www.cointalk.com/t141026/ or in the Bullion Investing forum: http://www.cointalk.com/t134103/ TC
based on $28.44 an ounce. my guess is that the collector's version will cost us around $229.95 each. and the bullion one will be around $20.00 over spot or $162.20 each. mintage for collector's version is 33,000 each for 2010 and 27,000 each for 2011. the bullion version will have no maximum limit.
The collectors version of the 2010 is 27,000. The bullion version of the 2010 is 33,000. The bullion version of the 2011 has no set limit. I think your price estimates are probably pretty close although I would not expect the 2010 bullion to stay at that level for long. If I were with the TV coin shows I would already have a bunch of them bought up with pre-orders to the primary distributors. That will make them much harder to buy at a small mark up because they will already be a hard to get item.
