Please pardon my lack of knowledge, but when it comes to cents, what do "BN", "RB" and "RD" mean? Thanks
:welcome: Those terms are used for describing a cent's surface color. BN: Brown. RB: Red Brown. RD: Red.
According to the TPGs: between 0 and 5% red = brown between 6 and 95% red = red brown between 96 and 100% red = red Here is a good article on the price differences: http://www.pcgs.com/articles/article_view.chtml?artid=6101&universeid=313&type=1 And a great quote from that article: "The hidden gems are the coins that display about 90 to 95% Red surfaces but are described as Red Brown surfaces, having just missed the full Red color designation.
