Would this morgan possibly go a 66? Not for 56k modems.

It must always be remebered that the '81-S and the '79-S Morgans are graded stricter, with tougher standards, than most other Morgans. IMO this one would likely grade MS64 PL.

I agree with GDJ. They are really tough on this year in regards to grading. I have a few of them that I was sure would go 65. All came back 64.

No chance at 66. 65 if you are very, very lucky. May be PL or DMPL, tough to say for sure from the pics...Mike

I was thinking that it wouldn't even go 65. The seller said it was an easy 66 by PCGS standards, and the guy claimed to be a pro grader. I can't seem to find the auction anymore though. Anyway, he used the pictures above, which were identical to another auction's pictures. I knew the grade on the holder was clearly incorrect! It's currently graded an ms-69 DMPL, lol, I'll bet ten to one you guys can guess who originally "graded" the coin.

Not a snowball's chance. For a '79-S to receive a 66, I doubt there could be anything even resembling a mark visible on the cheek even at the magnification used in the photo.

Having said that, I'd be pretty happy to count that coin in my collection.
