I believe this was made in Liberia, so if you've never seen one here it is... http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j368/wvabe/010-1.jpg?t=1291069634 http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j368/wvabe/011-1.jpg?t=1291069634
I like it! He should be on some kind of currency for sure. Hopefully I'm around to see it in circulation. (not to get into a political disscussion), but IMO he was the greatest president of our times. As time passes I only hope people will come to the same conclusion at some point.
I agree he was one of the greatest presidents; however, I don't believe any real person should be on our currency. It's a tradition of emperors going back to ancient times. As you know, our founding fathers were suspicious of authority and wanted to prevent any single person or group from establishing a monarchy here. That's one of the reasons our coins had an allegorical interpretation of "lady liberty" on our coins until 1909. We should remove all people and go back to lady liberty.
Gotta agree with Mac....we've seen enough dead, and frankly, bland looking, Presidents on our coinage. Lets get back to something that looks halfway artistic.
The creativity that was once on our coinage is now trashed year after year with dead presidents, and even the designs on commemoratives are getting progressively uglier. I agree, it is time to get back to what this country was founded on, liberty, freedom and justice, and not the people that have altered those things, for better or worse. Put the Statue of Liberty on my coin, not a dead guy! More to the topic that this thread concerns, I like the round. There was talk on this forum about Reagan being on the dime before. I wouldn't mind it, but Liberty is always a better choice. I wouldn't mind getting one for myself actually.
