Just posting this to show everyone what I bought today..this is my first "serious" note purchase as Im mostly a coin (morgan)collector ... its pretty interesting to have something from the civil war era....any comments, info and estimates are cool Dom
Nice note. Looks to be in F/VF condition. Grading notes is not my specialty though. How much did you pay for it? Did you buy it at a coinshow or on Fleabay?
Very nice note! The note is from the 1863 sixth issue, April. The building at center is the Capital at Nashville, Tenn. The gentleman at lower right is Alexander Hamilton Stephen Vice President of the Confederacy. There are notes with out the series number and notes with series number 1 - 5 also Vl - Xl. Printer K & B (S.C.) Lou
Nice Note. I think I paid around $25 for a $10 confederate in the same shape, so I think you got a decent note for a decent price.
go for it ... I was pleasantly suprised at that the local coinshop actually had mabye 40-60confed. notes....so why not.. something different with lots of history/intrest
