My Dad gave me this while I was recently visiting them. He had it with a few other coins he has been wanting to give me. He after all got me started as kid when he gave me the coins his father had given him. Anyhow this is a fairly low mintage Peace dollar and I grade it a VF 30. Am I on track with the grade? Opinions please
I think you may not be too far off, though perhaps a bit generous. Maybe VF-20? I'm by no means a professional grader, but the letters on the reverse appear to be quite worn, but that may just be the glare from the camera, or possibly it is just hard to see with the brownish color (which looks like a combination of toning and dirt build/up). Still a nice coin. My guess is that it is worth $30-$35. Greg
I think you are pretty close with the Vf30-35. There are still some details in liberty's hair and the eagles feathers, I think the lettering is more a weak strike issue than a wear issue. JMO
