It would be really cool if this forum could somehow block all the questions that require pics in order to answer! I don't know what's going on here but it's crazy to ask a question about a coin only to say "oh I don't have any pics"! If you don't have any pics then it didn't happen and don't ask the question! I don't know what's so difficult about common sense nowadays. There, just had to get it off my chest! :D

Most people who come here to ask about a coin who don't post a pic aren't usually coin collectors and just assume a description will suffice. It would be like you asking me how the dynamic braking on a locomotive engine works without specifying the make, model, year, carrier and service zone....things you wouldn't know to include.

    Have a little patience.

Pics are optional for newbies. Most don't know how to photograph a coin successfully as attested to by some ebay sellers.

Getting detailed photographs is out of the question.

New posters have a difficult time understanding the photograph upload process. I did.

I agree with Guy and 19Lyds. Newbies and non-collectors especially don't understand the importance of pics, and don't know how to take decent ones if they do. I've noticed that if we ask for one, they usually try to send something. I agree...Patience!

LOL! Amen! I've just started coin and paper money collecting and have already learned so much from the people here so... PLEASE KEEP BEING PATIENT WITH US! It really is appreciated.

Understandable. It's a very clunky, inefficient process. Poor software engineering, poor Human Centered Design.

You're forgiven GrassHopper! ;) Actually I have been patient as I wanted to vent about this long ago! :D

I understand being new as I was once a new person and I had to learn all about pics and uploading and all. I will now refrain from saying anything else about it. If we all grow a little educationally, then our mission has been accomplished. Happy gobble gobble!

I hope to one day snatch the pebble from your hand, in the mean time I will learn and practice on uploading pictures, so that when I have a question I will be ready with a picture. Happy Turkey Day

I agree with everyone here. It's frustrating AND understandable at the same time. The frustrating part is that if people stopped to think about it for a moment they would realize. I know taking pictures and uploading them requires a learning curve, but it should be painfully obvious that it's needed. I'm going to use the day off tomorrow to replace the radiator on my wife's car. I think I'll walk into the parts place and say, "I need a radiator for a car." Hopefully they can figure it out if I tell them it's green and has four doors.

you would be amazed at how many people call my shop and ask " my car failed its smog inspection or my car is making a funny noise, how much to fix it."
or my other favorite,"do I have to leave my car for you to work on it" which my boss always gives the "well I cant work on it while you are driving it."

Now that made me laugh. I guess things here at CT aren't so bad after all! You shouldn't have told me you work at an auto shop though; I'm going to have all sorts of questions. :D

And to think this is what I did in my first post here. :(

At least I managed to get some Photos of it uploaded quickly once I was told without one it's pointless. ^^

Your photos were much better than the average and posted quickly, so you're a CT member for life. Welcome aboard!

Hey it would be the least I could do, with all the info I've learned here.

Don't worry, although sometimes it seems to get frustrating, most people here are genuinely happy to try and help.
