I just saw a report on the news: The new Jefferson nickel is on it's way to the banks. So. When anyone finds their first 2006 full face nickel, put it in this thread. But before that, when do you guys think that will be?

OK,I cheated and bought 3 sets of rolls at the mint store in DC today. They look pretty nice except as usual, they put the obverse facing out on both ends so I can't see Monticello.Do I win a prize?
Seriously though,as far as receiving one in change,it could be a month or more.

I expect anyone living within 100 miles of either the Denver or Philadelphia mint could expect to see these in change by the end of the month or early next month. Seems to have been the case will all the new state quarters around here.

My order for the new Jefferson Nickels yesterday was immediately backordered by the mint.

I do most of my grocery shopping at the local Military Base and they always seem to have the latest coin releases about 2 weeks after the coin comes out. So I should see it before the end of the month. I'll let you know.

Because the key word here is 'permanent', isn't it a bit odd to be paying a premium for these nickels which will be around for ever?
Wait a week and save a bundle! Spend the money you save on something worth collecting.
