i was just wondering why this ICH was going for what it is. it looks a low grade to me and the 3 i have are in much better condition. is it because of '74 date? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USA-1874-INDI...037761?pt=UK_Coins_USA_RL&hash=item51965d2541
Yes, the 1874 can range from 20-60 USD in the lower grades. Things that can help you determining value of a coin are eBay completed listings, and Numismedia.com http://www.numismedia.com/cgi-bin/c...&nmcode=10414900&guide=prices&guide2=pricesms ^ The above page is the page I used to find a base retail price http://completed.shop.ebay.com/i.ht...mpt=Coins_US_Individual&LH_Complete=1&guest=1 ^ The above link shows completed listings of 1874 Indian Head Pennies. You can find one in similar condition, and compare pricing. A recent one in VF condition went for $41. The eBay completed listings give you a basis as to what the market can be for the coin(s)
oh cheers thats relly great help when i get a chance i will try and find some comparison prices for the ones i have
After looking at several 1874's I am surprised what they are asking for in G4 condition. Calumsherwood the price for that IHC is not bad. I'd buy it IMHO.
Thanks for posting this. I really never thought about IHC collectors in England before. Are other series of US coins also popular ? And is there an economical way to ship an item from the US ? Curious, gary
to be honest i dont know of the best way of shipping from us to the uk or vise versa becuse i have never bought any thing from the us because im always cautious of shipping charges. so it would be nice to know of the best/ safest way of doing it. i dont know if that there are that many people in the uk who collect us coins. i have a few, 3 ihs couple of half dollars and just some ordinary stuff like cents and dimes. i would like a buffalo. i think a lot of US coins are beautiful because they are so different to uk coinage,
