    I'm at work right now so I can't check this, but it seems to me that there are no U.S. coins from 1922. Why not?

    there's the 1922-d lincoln cent, and the 1922, 1922-d, and 1922-s peace dollars, and the 1922 and 1922-s double eagles ($20 gold). i do believe that's it, however.

    The coins weren't made because the mint had put a priority on silver dollar production.

    Why couldn't they make both silver dollars and other coins that year? What made that year special?

    I think also there was limited demand for coins in that period due to the economic situation.

    It was after WWI and there was a low demand for the coinage because of the economic downturn.

    Similar to the "great depression" years, when some demoninations weren't minted...
