Congrats on the new piece mumu.

I love the look of this one too. Bright and clean! What does this coin grade? MS64-65 maybe?

I've also been looking for a nice example of a Caballito. These tend to be a bit pricey and take some time to find reasonably priced.

I think i got a bargain on this one because it is in an MS-62 holder. I wont know until in hand if it warrants that grade but a 64 jsut sold for nearly 500$ with no cameo and I thought this one to be a bargain at less than half that with that semi proof-like look that I have not seen on a single other exmaple of these. The 500$ ms-64 was actually a 1910 piece which has 3x the mintage so I really thought this one was a must have.

I agree, this one may be undergraded but it's too soon to tell. One spot that gives me pause is at the base of the cactus / top of the mound. There appears to be a finger print in the field to the right of the mound. This could also be a print on the holder. Any thoughts on that? I hope you will also post a pic and your thoughts when you receive the new coin.

I dont think thats a finger print. I wondered if it was clashing though these are some pretty thick planchets. I am thinking it get s a 62 for some problems in the fields. On the reverse towards 2pm there is some activity.

Beautiful coin, it looks MS63 but I would leave well enough alone for now and just enjoy it.

Some of my favorite coins are MS62.

Yeah, I saw that on the reverse too, but generally it seems there are marks, cracks and hairlines common to Mexican coins that don't draw down grades, too much. It doesn't much bother my eye seeing it there.

Is this a common peso? I must admit I have fallen in love with its artwork. Congrtas and I have got to find me one.

    From Wikipedia: Mexican Peso

Also note that the Mexican Revolution began in 1910.

2010 is the Centennial year of the Revolution and there have been other numismatic products released and celebrations planned throughout the year.

Thanks guys. i was really stoked to run into this one. It will make a great companion to the semi proof/cameo Dos Pesos I bought a few months back from the same seller. His pics were dead on on the dos pesos so i expect the same here.
