Ive gotten a total of 4 coins from 3 different dealers on it. I do my best to price compare others & regular google search to see what a going rate a coin goes for. But overall I do think the majority is over priced. Ive seem some really ugly common ancients go for double digits and at other online stores it can be in the single digits for the same better coin.
just like any place else, you gotta search for the deals. i've seen some that are overpriced, and i've found some great deals there.
It's really a collection of dozens of small stores, so it's a bit silly to try to lump them all in one category. Like the others, I've seen ones that sell things at low prices, and others charging way too much.
Whether it is VCoins, eBay or a local coin show, The majority of coins are priced at more than most of us are willing to pay. Coins priced less than that sell and go off the market. Some 'dealers' are really just collectors playing dealer as a way of moving along things they don't want. It does not take too long to figure out which are seriously in business to sell coins and who is sitting there waiting for a fool to come along and buy something for twice what they paid retail. There are many genuine dealers on VCoins who sell for a reasonable markup over what they had to pay for the coin. Some pay too much. I'd say the percentage of good ones is better than on eBay or local coin shows. Of all hobbies I have had association which, ancient coins have the most variations in prices for what seems like the same coins. The answer is to buy only what you want for the prices you want to pay. If you never find any seller offering what you want for what you will pay, you have the choice of changing your wants, changing the dealers you are watching or changing hobbies.
