I see a lot of nice stuff begging for bids on the Bay. Blame it on the Holidays or is it a lot of them are broke / out of money? Dunno, but I have made some really nice buys lately. When I am set up at a show and the people coming in the door aren't asking prices I know they don't have any money. While such a show is a bad selling show I have bought some tremendous deals at these. The economy in no way is near a recovery. Can't say I blame for people for not wanting to buy coins. When politicians start talking 10% unemployment will be a "norm" with us for sometime there is something seriously wrong in this country. Of course many of them are merely paid liars for the corporate interests that control them. What a wasteful economic system we have that 100% of labor resources can't be utilized.
I find e-bay is no longer an auction site everything is buy it now and lots of opening bids start at trend prices. It's sad when I can go to my retailer and get a 1.1 oz silver year set prooflike for 25$ CDN and on e-bay its 28-30$ US plus shipping, why would I buy?
I've sold some paper recently and have been happy with the price. got more than i paid for them. In the case of the $10 1934a silver certificate I got twice what I paid. Plan to take a few things to the coin and money show in Houston in two weeks and see what I can trade or sell them for.
