What happened with this one?

Here is what looks like a copper nickle Indian head penny. Anyone have an idea what might of happened with it? PMD? Drunk Chinese counterfeiter?

Was encased at one time as a good luck penny or in a bezel of some type...

I agree, an encasement piece. Too bad I don't think I've ever seen an encasement with a coppernickel cent in it before.

I would have never guessed it had been encased. Looked to me like some kinda machine work.
I think I'll hang onto it for awhile.
