Hi , First time poster. I have found these medal that belong to my grandfather. I am not having much luck finding out much about them. After my research , I understand they are not coins but medals. I also have fount there are many presidential commemorative medals. None matching the eagle on the back. As far as I have been able to find anyways. I have 35 . How many are in the collection ? My grandfather past away in 1982 . So they are older than that . Any help or a point in the right direction would be great ! Thank you so much.

Just an update . I have used all of the links that krispy posted with not much luck. I have surfed all of them and many more , with no exact match or answers. I have even went as far to email the 3 links krispy posted. So , I am still on the search.
Yes, I understand these are medal and NOT coins.

Keep narrowing your search. There's a source out there somewhere or someone with the knowledge you seek for info. Sometimes it takes a while to get there. Keep up the good work. Sorry those links didn't pan out.

If I may, the best way might be to request a review by the Token and Medal Society or you may be able to e-mail them and send them the images . Many of these medals were private issues , but that doesn't mean to say it's not a valuable piece . I'm ill-prepared to suggest a value . It looks as if the medal composition is silver. Is that correct ? The Silver issues almost always bring premiums over the copper issues.

If you notice there is an example of the medal you have, listed in those images.

From the collection you have of these, could you tell us which is the most recent President you have? When does your collection stop in order of Presidents?

Also, on the reverse side, with the seal, is there a word under the eagle's talon holding the olive branch on the left side?

Are there any engravers initials anywhere on the pieces?

Are there any markings on the edge side of the coin, any edge lettering? Is the edge smooth or reeded (like a quarter's edge)?

What would you say the metal looks like in person? I do not think these are silver but they may have been brass or bronze. From the one of Lincoln, there seems to be some traces of yellowish plating or polished brass left in the flat fields of the medallion.

I found one other medallion from this series on some auction/classifieds web site. It is an FDR medallion. The image looks much more yellow-ish like brass. The seller has no details on it but also speculated it may be brass.

Not sure if you are still active on this thread but I have one of these medallions with the engraver name of Kayson or Mayson.
