Yesterday I got some nice shiny new Yellowstone D-Mint quarters in change. With the exception of the Hot Springs rolls that I got at my bank, these are my first sighting of the new AFB Quarter series. As I had mentioned about the Hot Springs, I like the higher relief on George. I also got a 2010-P nickel and a 2010-D dime yesterday as well as several cents. The cents seem to be everywhere. The dimes are nickels are becoming quite common as well. I still don't get 2009s in change, but eventually I will, I just have to keep watching.
Congrats Mike. PM me if you want to trade.....I need a 2010 P nickel, and a 2009 D nickel. I have extras of 2009/10 dimes and the nickels I don't need.....
The only Parks quarters I've seen in circulation are the three Hot Springs (P) quarters I received in change yesterday from the Au Bon Pain in Union Station, Washington DC. The cashier must have just filled her tray with a new roll of quarters as there were about that many in the till, all shiny and swirling with luster. These are the first I've seen of them in circulation. Also, I was just looking at them and found George Washington's portrait to be anything but higher relief, quite the contrary, I was thinking they looked flatter than ever and rather surprised they could actually strike them with less raised detail. Oh well. As for 2010 Dimes and Nickels, I've been getting plenty of them in change. The same goes with the new shield cents. However, I still have only found a few of any 2009 coins in circulation. The Lincolns are starting to show up, but they look like spotted dogs!
I know! I still see some LP1's, 2's, and 3's, (never did find 4's in circ) and they are all spotted. I wonder why just the '09 cents do that. I see tons more '09's like that than all other years combined. Did they do someting different with the composition or minting process that would cause them to spot easily?
I will gladly send you these 2 nickels. For some reason, all of a sudden my wife has been getting a ton of these in change from her work.
