I'm going thru the 1st sack and am about 1/8th thru it. Besides finding a few DDO's I've found a couple of AG 1909 cents and a few 1920's (S) cents. Then as I reached into the stack I grabbed one of those older SLICK feeling cents and took a look... Here it is Bone
Ebay my friend. The seller was dumping loads of them and I bought two. Paid like $130 each for them though. B
That's Great that you found it! I hope you find some more Great Stuff! Maybe a 09-S VDB??????? I Have had no luck at finding Keydates on ebay lots. Maybe next time, SM
Hey bone, On your 1914-d, make sure that there is no VDB on the shoulder, and also there should be a die crack on the obverse which runs from the rim to the bust, at about 4:30-5:00
Congratulations btw, I'd be psyched even if I found a counterfeit one, but your mint mark looks good, so I hope it's real (I don't think this is frequently counterfeited, but I'm not sure)!
The diecrack I'm not sure about....I have one G-4 in a PCGS holder that I'm 100% sure is real and I couldn't find a diecrack when I looked...and also some are known to take off the VDB.... I had a fake I bought one time....it was a fake 1914-P...who every was trying to make it a 1914 from a 1944 messed's up half way done and just left off the D....I sold it for much more than I paid!!! Speedy
I just might. My FIRST one ever sent in, LOL What grade do you think it might receive? VF-30/35... BTW, there is no vdb on the shoulder. I couldn't make out a die crack either. B
Great find Bone! That puppy should pay for both bags. It looks legit to me. I also don't see the aforementioned die crack.
Looking at the configuration of the date leads me to believe that this is A Good One!! Congratulations! There was a comment on this coin not being counterfeited much. That couldnt be further from the truth. I wish i had a dime for every 1944 D that I've seen that has been doctored to look like a '14 D. This one looks Nice! I would have a hard time though going better than an F-12 based on the reverse. Way to Go!! Bill
