This Spainish coin minted between the Isabella II and Amadeo I (when Spain has not own king.
I have a couple of coins of that period too.

These coins do not only indicate their face value but also their weight. :) The first coin has a FV of diez (ten) centimos; "diez gramos" means "ten grams" and therefore "cien piezas en kilog" = one hundred pieces in a kilo. Similarly, Siberian Man's 5 cts coin says 5 grams, and 200 pieces in a kilo. Same thing with the 2 ptas silver coin which has a weight of 10 grams - and 100 of those are a kilogram ...

The information provided is right. :)

As chrisild addressed, you can read its weight on in. So in the time of my grandparents, some of those coins (5, 10 cents) were used in weighing scales (balances) to put them on one side as standard masses instead of some of this kind :

In that time, some shops were not reliable, as they used some coins which had been scratched to remove a little bit of its weight
