Look at the (B) in liberty on this 1957-D. It's not damaged in any way except it looks like a die-cud in the lower portion of it.

I have found a lot, and I mean a lot of cud errors on 1957 cents. It seems like that year has TONS of them. I'm not sure why.

I've got (The Complete Lincoln Head Cent Encyclopedia) and there sure a LOT of DDO's and DDR's I've never even heard of. Many more than the 55 DDO. I'm virtually having to check every coin.

You should find a lot of those in the 57's, also might find a few in the 9 and the 5 as well.

Talking of 9's does that second scan have something in the 9 or is it my eye's?

I collect error coins and way back when I first saw the 57D's like that I thought I really had something. Then I began to notice I had more of them like that than any other error coins. The more 57D's I looked at the more of those I accumulated. I think I have about 20 those now. As alread y noted there are similar ones in other years in the 50's. If you want to check out error cents try the coppercoins.com web site. I've got the book from that web site and there appears to be errors coins in every year the Lincolns were out.
