You can go the NGC.com and lookup the FMV there. Before buying, what if any research did you do ? The price sounds about right, I can't get to my sheets right now to be more definite. I just looked, NGC quotes a price of $300.00 ( $299.00 ) , So you did fine if you add tax. You didn't get slammed, anyway. OOPs , I was looking at the wrong price field. $600.00 is the NGC figure for the DPL/GSA

Hi and welcome to CT you can find the value at Numismedia prices at NGC.com Smart move buying a GSA hoard as they tend to hold their value. Plus it's graded so you have value there too. Remember buy the book before the coin....and know your dealer/seller and you'll do fine in this hobby . Enjoy your purchase. Sam

Welcome to CT! Bluesheet for certified coins may help you, but not the deep proof part

The General services Administration (GSA) conducted the auction for these coins back in the seventies and eighties. The folks at the mint were doing a little house cleaning back then and found a substantial number of silver dollars in their vault. Being the good business people that they are, they offered them to the public. If memory serves, you sent in an offer for one of the coins. Can't remember but there was probably a minimum bid at the time.

but bluesheet is for sight unseen certified coins.

Yeah , my first post was based on these figures. So the $399.00 was a good price .
