What modern Canadian series do you think are good to collect or do you like to collect and do you think they have any long term investment potential. I find I'm partial to modern coins and particularly Canadian and Australian. However, I also look for investment potential. I am very new to collecting coins for reasons other than simply as a bullion purchase and when I posed this question to a coin dealer they suggested that I should by bullion as an investment but there is little investment potential in moderns, even if they have a high content of bullion. I find that hard to believe though.
moderns for investment i feel is very safe i bought 3 silver dollars today a coin from 2009 new and the canadian war ship, one single struck and 1 double struck,, very nice not to mention you can get a scattered one marked down 25 to 50 % off rarely 50 though, around 92 % pure ,silver..if you message me ill let you know where you can get a deal every now and then. if i tell everyone then maybe i wont get a deal as it will be all bought. one i got for 38.90 today very nice coin..i love the older silver but i think with the growing silver value increase. im going to buy a few a month..happy collecting, gee i love this hobby and site..
Howdy, neighbour. Im still new to the whole whole coin collecting "thing". Twoonies were way to easy to collect there isn't a ton of variation, some of the errors are kind of cool though. As far as other modern stuff goes, there are a ton of canadian quarters out there. I'm working on filling in all of the post '67 stuff before I start the silver ones. I really enjoy collecting loonies. 25 years isn't exactly a long run so it's fairly easy to put together a full set. If you stick to it you can probably get a complete set of circulated ones from your pocket change. Plus there is a wide variety of ones from mint sets that weren't intended for circulation. With regards to investment potential of loonies, they're pretty inexpensive and common so I don't really see any investment potential. For an investment I would go with the canadian widlife bullion series.
