I picked this up from eBay a couple days ago. I am not sure I got it for the coin of the slab. Anyway, I was rather surprised. It looks like it would make a 65. I don't it is FS even with 5 steps, but it is at least not far from it. Any comments on the coin or particularly the slab appreciated. BTW, the slab is the size of an old ANACS slab.
No FS in my opinion. And I agree with you, this might get a 65 if sent in to another grading company. (Not necessarily worth the money to do something like that though) A grade lower, at MS64 wouldn't surprise me though. Dick, I have never heard of this particular grading company, but it would be interesting to see more samples of coins from them. I doubt they could be much better than a lot of the other "XYZ" grading companies after seeing just one sample. But hey, ya' never know. Some of the underground, basement slabbers can be accurate at times, and this, with the exception of the FS designation, might be one of those times.
I guess we will need Conder to weigh in on the obscure TPG, but the coin looks accurately graded from what I can see (not the best pics).
The steps appear to be bridged over under the third pillar, if you got this for middle of the road MS money your did OK for a 50-D No idea who TGS is or what it stands for.
TGS = Trust Grading Service or TruGrade Service I'm not sure which one slabbed your coin but the holder and insert do not look like the ones in the photos at TruGrade's site.
Slab does not look like anything I recall having seen before. Rim who was the seller, maybe I can pick one up.
The seller was thecoinshoponline, but he has nothing listed now, he had no more of this coin listed and even the listing I bought from got pulled (he listed the grade of a non-certified coin).
