I dont collect world coins but in my opinion the one you have pictured has been cleaned or polished in its time.

 

Looks like an old cleaning.

 

No doubt in my mind that it was cleaned.

 

It looks like it has been boiled or cooked to me. IMHO

No doubt on the 3 pence. Cleaned.

 

im not an expert but i can clearly see that these have been cleaned/polished in the 3 pences case. and those prices are ridiculos in my opinion
