Help with Grading.

Hello all.
I picked up some of these over the past two years and have only rough grades for them. I'm only 15 and have a little trouble grading, so I would appreciate your advice. I will do these over a series of three posts as I have 5 coins that I need help with.

Post 1:

1826 Lettered Edge Half, O-117a

Saw this in a dealers case for a Fine price, and thought, though I wasn't sure, it was at least EF 45.


1854 Silver Three Cents

Totally lost on this one.....

3 cent F-12?

 

the Half looks pretty close to AU50, the Trime is about F18 to VF20

 

Beautiful half- AU50/55
No experience in 3 cent silver.

 

I think you half would go 40 maybe 45. The trime looks to be VF something.

 

I agree with rlm's cent. The trime looks like a VF 25 and the half looks to be XF 40.

I'd say EF40 for the half

F-12 for trime

 

XF45 details on the half, looks like it has been cleaned at one time and has since retoned. The 3c silver is vf35 to me.
