    Are they worth anything? I just wanted to put a value on it for my records.

    You have probably noticed that there is only a single engraved signasture, that of the Deputy Minister of Finance. initially the notes were signed by J. M. Courtney Deputy Minister from 1878 to 1906. T. C. Boville followed from 1906 to 1920 and J. C. Saunders served as Deputy Minister from 1920 to 1929.

    The 25-cent fractinoal notes were printed in sheets of ten until 1918. From 1918 they were printed in sheets of twenty. There is no check letter or sheet number, consistent with the 1870 issue. There is also no series letter.

    The notes signed by Coutney have the word OTTAWA in large black letters to the right of the signature but does not appear on the notes signed bu his successors.

    plate numbers did not appear on the Courtney notes, but may be found on notes bearing other signatures.

    Catalogue price for the Courtney note is as followed:

    G=6, vg=10, f=15, vf= 30, ef=90, au=190, unc 550
