I need to sell one of these, but can't decide which one. They're both 1887 Philadelphias. I want to keep the nicer one for myself. The first one I'll post has a better strike with more numerous but smaller marks. The second coin has weaker strike with very few marks, but the marks are deeper. This second coin has outstanding luster. I love both, but need the cash. Any help/comments are appreciated. Thank you.
I like the top one better so mabye keep that one...ya on second look def. sell bottom one if any at all (I hate it when I sell coins bec, I need the money )
It's really hard to tell from those pictures but I'd say the bottom one as the Luster is Silky Smooth
That's the one I was leaning towards, but it's got the deeper marks and a weaker strike.... Damn I hate selling!!!! RRRRRR
I either need to sell one of these or one of my three 1891 CCs so I guess I'll bite the bullet on one of these.
Blue is lighting I think. And if I can't see the marks he talks about with those picts but from what I see again the bottom.
Now we have the same dilemma with those. Two of them are spitting eagle VAMs and all 3 of them are in the same condition (XF-AU). I don't think I'll be able to sell them at this time.
I'd keep the second. More of an "original" luster to it. First has probably been dipped longer/more times.
There's a reptile tank in the room and the lights are that color. Both coins are BRIGHT white. 1st has small gold toning at 11 o'clock.
I am sorry you need to sell one. But it's good that you have a duplicate. It really sucks when you have to sell the only ones you have, but that is one reason we buy the gold & silver coins...........insurance. If currency won;t get it done, gold or silver will. Wishing you well and hope that the situation improves soon. Gary
Could you guys give me a grade estimate on these. I was thinking at least 63, maybe 64 on the bottom coin. What do you think? Are either 65s?
