I'm planning on attending my first show next January. I was just wondering if anyone has been to the FUN show held in Florida before? Would this be a good show to attend as my first outing or am I getting in overboard? Will there be dealers with coins to match all collectors budgets or is it a highend kinda show? I am planning on going just wanted to get any insight you guys might have on it . Thanks
I've been and will probably be there this time too. It's in Orlando usually but in Tampa this time. As for inventories...yes there should be plenty of different stuff for all type so of collectors. Last year it did see there were more high end coins then low end type then usual but still plenty of all ranges. I recall a dealer that had about 200 PCGS slabbed coins all for $5 each your pick. If you specialize there are plenty of those too. On a side note if this is you first show it'll ruin you for the smaller ones though As it is so grandiose in scale.
There's a chance that I might even make the FUN show myself this year. So hopefully all you guys make it too
This will be my 8th consecutive FUN Show. There are usually 800-1000 dealers, and there is always something for everyone in every price range. Besides many of the big dealers, you will also find many of the local dealers from around the state whom you would ordinarily see at many of the "hometown" coin club shows. Anyone who has an opportunity to attend this show should definitely not miss it. Chris
You got a dollar figure in mind ? I'm am budgeted around $100.00 items and under right now but was just trying to get a idea of what the show was about since I heard it had a Heritage auction going on. Sorry if the questions are crazy.
Both Heritage and Stacks will have auctions taking place, but those are totally separate from the bourse. If you are budgeting $100 or less per item, you shouldn't have any trouble finding a selection. Chris
The FUN show is a large show. There will probably be everything you are looking for but, being a large show, you may be overwhelmed if it is your first show. I would recommend that you attend a small show or two before attending the FUN show so you at least know a bit about what to expect.
The Heritage auction will be on the computer, just get a free account set up at HA.com. If your talking the bourse floor you can't as there are around 1000 dealers all with their own inventories of stuff to sell.
