My father and best friend left me his coin collection... I now share his passion for the hobby. I really wish he could know how much enjoyment I'm getting from it. I'm having trouble with the value of this complete set of Buffalos. Attached is an example of the coins.
Hmm if i am correct which i am not usually correct at giving prices (lol) i'd say its not worth much since you can't see much of the dates of your nickels and the rest is kinda worn off. I'll let an expert give your price's though. Either way if your looking to buy some dates around the 30s give me a PM. I'll give it at a decent price. The set looks great w/wo value.
With all the negatives on Whitman folders and the like, I'm torn with what to do... Leave 'em... Put them in flips/3-ring binger... Dansco.... A R G H
With the photo you posted it's hard to see the coins to determine their true condition...with that said they are priceless as they were your dads! And now yours to hand down to your children, or do as you wish. My regrets over your loss, but as long as you hold them in your possion you will also hold his passion for collecting. They meant alot to him , and you as well, he wanted you to have something you might not otherwise have....Priceless!
thanks guys for the very kind posts.. he was a great dad.. And yes the 1913 T2's have readable dates... I'd NEVER consider selling them but there are two sets virtually the same grade and I'd like to finish his Peace set... When I mouse over the photo I uploaded it expands and fills the screen on my PC... is that what it's doing for all of you? I understand if that is still too small to judge... I'm just trying to learn this board (which is awesome btw)..
