I've been wanting to get a nice birth year cent for some time... Saw this cat on the 'bay with 3 of these listed at the same time.. No idea what's it worth so watched the first two go down before going after the last one. 1st one went 72,, second went 60,, got this one at 54 delivered.... How'd I do ?,,, don't really care as it was a target coin for some time,, just curious what the modern cent forum members think regarding this one's investment side of the collection pie  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400166547679&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT .... and btw,,,, if you know, what should I expect the incremental upgrade to 69 cost me.. should I come across one ?
PCGS has only graded one as a 69. They show the value at $2500. Can't tell you if that price is even close. Don't see any history of an NGC or PCGS being sold.
From an investment's standpoint, it's a complete gamble. As with most coin purchases you make, buy the coin you like, and BECAUSE you like it. If I were to cash in all the mint and proof sets I bought more than five years ago, I'd lose big time. I like them, and am proud to have them in my collection. I say, if you find a coin you absolutely love, and it's in your price range, take the plunge!
