forgive me if this has already been done but i was just wondering how people got in to collecting. for me it was when i was around 10 i found a victorian penny in a hedge and (being 10) thought i had made a major archiological find. ive carried that coin around ever since and its almost completly worn flat. i have around 300 coins at the minute none of which are very valuable i just like the history behind each one

I always was interested in coins when I was a young kid, but I really started to actually collect coins when I was about 16-17. I am now 21 and I don't have a huge collection or any coins that are expensive but I probably have around 600-700(maybe more) coins. Most my coins are silver but I do have a decent amount of Indian head pennies(around 100 or so) and v nickels and buffalo nickels(maybe 75 between the two). Some of the coins that really interest me are mercury dimes, walking liberty halves, American silver eagles, and proof sets.

Gambling at the local poolroom at the age of 10 in 1957. The kid who lost paid me, in part, with a Morgan silver dollar which I had never seen before. The rest is history.

I got interested into coins when my grandfather gave be a dateless Buffalo Nickel five years ago. I thought it was amazing, for I had always thought that the Mint always had Jefferson Nickels (I was young then :D ).
