Hello. Completely new to coin collecting here. I just randomly had the idea to go to my bank and get a bunch of penny and nickle rolls. Of course, with the idea of picking out the oldies. I picked every penny and nickle from 1969 and older. I wound up with the following results 70 rolls of pennies: 110 pennies were 1960-1969 7 were 1950-1959 5 were wheat pennies ('46-'58) 20 rolls of nickles: 28 were 1960-1969 4 were 1950-1959 I know I didn't get any amazing finds but I gave it a good starting effort for the hunt eh? Anyway... after picking all these out I dug around researching value-- discovered I'm no where near finding anything valueable. but it's all in fun and I'm collecting what was rare either way. But in looking at values I notice there are TONS of exceptions like certain places they are minted or specifc years giving value to coins that aren't neccessarily 200 years old... Is there any site with a list of what to look for when picking through rolled coins? Also I noticed 1959 and older is much more rare than 1960-69. However that 60-69 are still pretty uncommon compared to all years older. Would I wind up looking back and being glad I kept all the 60-69s and rolled em up some time in the future possibly? Or could I just be wasting time and space with those? Thanks
