Yeah I know, but for generations those have been called slide marks or slide scratches. PCGS even used to have slide marks listed in their Glossary. But no longer - this year it suddenly became "album friction" ???

For years we all knew what "First Strike" meant - the first coins struck from new dies. Then all of a sudden the term was hijacked and changed (by TPGs) to coins struck before a certain date regardless of die state.

I would not be surprised if they had to change the term to be more specific. Like with other things in this hobby people start using a term too often for incorrect descriptions. I guess the only people who know for sure are the people at PCGS.

I tried scanning the coin at work and did not like the results. Waiting for the wife to get back from her boondoggle with the camera.

OK boys and girls here are the pics. I will recap the question.

I bought the coin at my local coin shop. It listed for $60 and was graded MS 64 "prooflike"

In my opinion the Obv. is at least 64, but the Rev. may grade less. The other perplexing thing is on the Rev in the wings armpit area is what looks like wear. Upon closer look with a loop I can see very fine vertical hairline scrathes up and down on the Rev. I do not see these same lines on the Obv.
