Well dang it.... Well thats alright... I did also find a 1953 s wheat penny, so it was worth my effort. Thanks for the info and my five mins of false hope RB13
RB13, I actually collecti PMD coins. As ikandiggit states it´s a great resource for educating your self and maby one day others. And belive me when I say I have a quite few of them that I thought were real. It happens to ever error collector. So i´m going to say. Cool looking PMD coin you have there
Just to continue this, this is what happens when acid is on a coin longer Turns out they made them look like dimes in the 40's to fool vending machines
You might try laquer thinner on it. They did coat cents with this to conserve the finish for a number of years. Almost looks like it was blow torched? Or it could have been attacked with a rotary brush? Many ways to ruin a cent.
I hang on to the acid dipped ones, chrome plated ones, etc. It's a seperate box. Can be used for reference, education, whatever. The cost is very little, and since I keep all copper anyway, it's just more junk to have. gary
just like my avatar.. and they are correct.. its an acid job.. I kept mine cause its cool looking.. I call it my wavy scent!
