Just found a 1939 D Nickel graded XF45. I know it's a key date but all the ones I've seen on ebay or other sites have very different prices. I'd like to get a general consensus on the value.

In this condition, the 1939-D is only about a $15 coin. There shouldn't be a whole lot of price variation from seller to seller. Personally, I wouldn't buy one in circulated condition and would spend the extra needed to get a BU example.

So I should just keep it and finish my 38-etc. set? Still a good roll find though.

A coin is what you want it to be. If you found it in a roll then kudos to you! I would not hesitate to put that coin in my circulated nickel collection. If you like it then keep it ;)

I am completely lost! I thought you were talking about buying one that you found that is for sale. Are you asking how much to sell one you found roll searching?

Yes. My poorly phrased sentence threw you off and I apologize. Normally my sentences make sense, but then it is midnight where I am.

Okay, that is easy. Take a good photo, stick on E-Bay with a $0.99 start price, and expect to collect $10-$15 assuming your coin is XF with no problems.
