    Hi,

Just got this at auction today and I imagine that the 1776 date might provoke a bit of interest your side of the pond. Not sure if the link works but if you go to google and type in Lakeland Coin Auction Cumbria, it was lot 34. It's not a high grade but a nice addition to my collection. Any ideas on value appreciated. I know that it catalogues in Spink at £300 for fine but Spink is only a guide afterall. Thanks Marbury518 UK

I think that value is going to be pretty close. I imagine you paid pretty close to that.

With the auction house premium, only a little higher than that. Though I had hoped the year might have added a bid more to it.
One posted on e-bay, similar grade about double the Spink est..........perhaps just a speculative punt.

Also picked up a much lower value coin today, 1757 sixpence Good Very Fine......actually on closer inspection it doesn't look great but what do you expect for £25.
