Well today, i purchased a whole roll of mixed date\grade Mercury dimes. The oldest one was 1935, best grade was AU-50, and most common date was 1943. What do you think i paid? I paid $30.00 for the roll, at silver value of 9.00/oz, which was $2.57 under silver. How do you think i did? Most are XF!:goofer:

Also today, i bought a box of fed wrapped nickels. i'll post results later. i'm only keeping from 1965 back and 2004-2005 good ones.

You will probably find a lot of 1964's. When I search nickel rolls, I keep all of the ones from before 1960.JMHO

i'll probably just keep 1959 and back as well. Does anyone know where to get a folder? I tried K-mart and we don't have a dealer closer than 45 mins away.

You do know that nickels before 1965 aren't silver right?
Only dates from 1942-1945 are silver....just wanting to make sure.

Do you have any hobby stores in your area, like Hobby Lobby? They carry some coin folders, 2x2's, etc...

Just about any coin dealer will have these, also.

Can't you buy one from an on-line dealer ? It's quite easy really and usually cheaper than brick & mortar stores.

I know that Waldenbooks has a few folders and some pretty good books too-don't know if you have one in your area, but I'd give it a try.

I've found tons of 1964's roll searching... apparently there was a coin shortage due to silver hoarding, and nickels had to fill in for dimes and quarters being hoarded away. More than a billion each from Philadelphia and Denver were minted... this figure wasn't beat until the 1990's, lol.
