Seems there's a lot of confusion regarding MS coins and UNC. So much so that I'm confused and hope someone can help.

If a coin is graded NGC MS69 is it a logical assumption that it is uncirculated? Seems to me that an MS69 would be superior to even BU.

MS 69 would be described as choice gem brilliant uncirculated, so yes, it is superior to BU

Uncirculated means 'not circulated'. Mint State means 'in the same state as when minted' which is a fancy way of saying "uncirculated".

Circulated coin grades are 1 to 58.

Uncirculated coins (aka MS or Mint State) coin grades are 60 to 70.

There is no grade of 59 on the Sheldon Scale.

    It's nothing.

Like Hobo said above, Mint state is just another way to say uncirculated. Mint state grades are from MS-60 to MS-70. While circulated grades are from 1 to 58. No such thing as 59, its AU-58 to MS-60. Only self slabbers are likely to put 59 down when it should be 60.
