Let's see if we all agree on this one :)

Hard to say without seeing it in person as this date/mint is largely graded by luster. Looks like a nice original VF coin.

From the scan of the coin, I would grade it VG-8
But if the coin were in-hand, it might be up to F-12
I'm just not sure with these pictures.:kewl:

    I'd go with F15.

I think F12 is about as high as I could go---I know this one is known for a week strike....but that doesn't cut it for me.

I've seen slabbed MINT STATE examples with less horn that this one. :)

I like it at a straight Fine.

Thanks everyone for the replies. This is an ANACS F12 I was thinking of buying. I guess I will :)

ANACS gives no help to these and still grades them by the horn. I showed them some already slabbed ones as I was looking to potentially cross them over at a higher grade and the opinions they offered were several grades LOWER than the current slabbed grade. :)

Here is the last one I owned. Purchased it raw off eBay for less than Fine money as people tend to still grade these by the horn and not the overall coin.

I wasn't going by the horn...look at the back end of the Buff...it looks caved in...also some of the letters were fading in with the rim....

I believe that the key word is some people may grade them by the horn.
Usually these are people who haven't been into Buffalo's very long or studied the main points that make up the Buffalo design. Actually, I guess I'm as bad because I rely on the Indian head to determine the grade, more so then the Buffalo side. To each his own...:thumb:

When I'm buying coins I always have places I look first...
    IHC...The LIBERTY and face
    Buff Nickel...Horn and letters
    Franklin Halves...Bell Lines
    Washinton Quarters...Face
    Wheat Cents...letters and face
Barber halves, dimes, quarters...LIBERTY and face and eagle on the back
and I could list more....I don't know why....its just something I've picked up over the years.
