The silver was pretty stained up but still cool to find. They usually only come outta the ground stained up if they sat in wet ground. A fun time out.
It can't be. 20 cent pieces have stars on the obverse, not UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Good guess, though. It is most likely a dime.
Great Man ! I know that guys will say I am crazy, but with the tarnished silver, I would try the Baking soda/salt water bath in an Aluminum bowl. I have soaked a couple this way and just let the chemical reaction work. I was really surprised at how good they came out. But I figured they were so bad anyway, that there was little to lose. It's not like they were MS coins with some toning. Were you able to locate the "Midway" area? Or did these turn up someplace else ? gary
