It snuck up on me. Now I just have to find some money. The Sept Philly Whitman show came close to tapping me out.
when and where is that? what do you like best about the whitman shows ... are they different from other shows?
Baltimore Convention Center (close to the Inner Harbor so lots of inexpensive places to eat) Nov 4-7 (I recommend either Friday the 5th or Staurday the 6th) Google "baltimore whitman coin" and get the full skinny. Their website will have a list of dealers. 1. Baltimore is close to me. 2. They are large so plenty to see (only shows I know of larger is are the ANA shows; don't know about the FUN shows). 3. Hard NOT to find what you want. 4. Generally have an auction.
Yep, I'll be going. Live in North Bethesda so it's an easy drive. Don't want to deal with traffic on a Friday, so I'll be heading up on Saturday morning. If anyone in the Bethesda/Rockville area needs a ride, let me know.
I'm in Silver Spring. I prefer Friday morning because there are fewer people there. Easy to move around. If I leave the house at 9AM or slightly before there's no real traffic problem. And that puts me there at the 10AM opening time. Plus I pre-register. BTW, Charmy (The Penny Lady) will be there.
I am a big fan of the Baltimore shows. Bowers and Merena looks to have a good auction this year, at least for the series I am in. I am hoping to make it at least one day. All depends on work.
I'm in N. Virginia; I haven't been to a Baltimore show yet (in my ~2 years of collecting) but I'm planning to head up this time, probably on Saturday. I may or may not drag my wife along, we'll see.
I would like to go to it especially I was stationed there and know exactly where it is..plus I can see some long lost friends. Now it's trying to convince the wife if I can go! You should see how many people are going and maybe try to meet up
In the past we've suggested checking in with Charmy (The Penny Lady). It's a person/place many of us are familiar with and she graciously has agreed in the past to be a focal point.
I went to the Philly show a couple of weeks ago and was blown away. Now I'm looking forward to the 2012 ANA show also in Philly. Id love to shoot down to Baltimore but there is a pretty good chance Id find all my clothes in the front yard when I got back.
