What planchet do you think it was struck on? A dime planchet? Is the coin silver? Have you weighed it? (And photos would help.)

Haven't had a chance to weigh it yet , but it looks to be all copper , and i think it was struck with a dime planchet

Dime planchets have never been copper.

it looks kind of like a double stamp

  8. I think they mean a dime die maybe?

I'm leaning towards PMD for the obverse. The reverse is obviously struck off-centered. It almost looks like letters are forming near the bottom of the obverse.

Dime die sounds like the word i was looking for , but i can't quite make out the letters on the bottom of the coin on the lincoln side even under a microscope. It looks like ME , or MA , im not quite sure

I am thinking some type of PMD ? Like smashed against another coin or between coins. Like being in a loose bag and having a heavy weight like another bag dropped on top of it.

I don't think it's a PMD coin because the letters are raised

maybe the other coin was incused?

    this coin is odd.

  15. Maybe it was in one of those crank penny press machines and it only caught the edge?

I am torn between struck on a different coin and post-mint encapsulation. Mike D. might know on this one.
I am leaning towards encapsulation damage.
I will try to look up some 'lucky pennies' and see if the design matches up. Some cents were stamped into a die with an aluminum horseshoe around them.

I am pretty sure that is PMD.

Does anyone have an idea on where i could send this coin for inspection ? And what is everyone's opinion on grade / possible value ?

Hope Mike Diamond shows up here. That would be the best inspection you can get. Aside from that, don't know where you are in Florida, but there are lots of good dealers down there.
